This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts and
methods of statistics required for understanding, analyzing, and interpreting data. The course covers data classification, measurement scales, graphical representation, sampling methods, descriptive statistical measures, correlation and regression analysis, and probability theory. Practical spreadsheet-based applications are integrated throughout the modules to facilitate computational understanding and enhance analytical skills. Students will learn to summarize data, construct graphical displays, apply sampling techniques, compute statistical measures, investigate relationships among variables, and solve probability problems arising in real-life situations. The course emphasizes both conceptual understanding and computational competence through hands-on activities using spreadsheet software. By integrating statistical theory with practical data analysis, the course develops quantitative reasoning, problem- solving abilities, and data literacy.
